2 Significant Architectures

Burj Al Arab

The Burj Al Arab is the worlds tallest hotel, found in the prestigious city of Dubai. The Above Image presents a visually appealling shot of the building. The evening shot produces a soothing feeling to the representation, while the lit structure provides a focal point for image and reinforces the buildings importance. Below is one of the initial sketches of the building. Its style outlines the basic concept of the 'boat sail', thus representing the most important ideas of the design

Below and above are contrasting physical models of the building. While the above style concentrates on structure and form, the below model incoorperates a style which is 'eye catching' and detailed, thus producing a lifelike representation of the building.

This image is an artists impression of the building. The style incoorperates many aspects and ideas of the architecture, hence creating a unique representation for each individual viewer.

Taipei 101

Tapei 101 was once the tallest tower in the world, located in china. The image above uses styles which focus mainly on the building itself, accentuating its height and superiority. In contrast the model below uses a unique style which utilizes a high degree of structural detail while disregarding textural information. Thus the representation of the building concentrates on form and structure.

The two sketches shown here use a similar medium, however present dissimilar representations of the building. The above sketch appears to be a really rough sketch of the tower, possibly a artists impression. In contrast the below sketch uses a cleaner drawing style, resembling that of ancient chinese art. The use of labels written in chinese symbols, combined with the drawing style, represent this building from a technical/structural view.

The final image is captures in misty/foggy morning, resulting in a heavenly feel to the shot. The addition of the surrounding environment creates a representation of the building concentrating on the relationship between the tower and its environment.
